Something’s Not Right.
And you’ve known it for a while.
Maybe it’s your marriage. Maybe it’s the anxiety that follows you everywhere. Maybe it’s a depression that’s taken the color out of your days. Whatever it is — you’re not imagining it, and you don’t have to keep carrying it alone.

Let Me Guess Why You’re Here.
You’re exhausted — not the kind that sleep fixes, but the kind that comes from keeping everything together on the outside while something slowly falls apart on the inside.
Maybe you and your spouse have been having the same fight for years. Or worse — you’ve stopped fighting altogether and just... coexist. You remember what it felt like to actually be close, and you grieve it quietly without knowing how to get it back.
Maybe anxiety has become such a constant companion that you’ve started to think it’s just who you are. The worry that never stops. The lying awake at night. The bracing for something to go wrong before it has. You’re tired of living on high alert.
Maybe depression has settled in. Not always the dramatic kind — sometimes just a low, gray flatness that makes everything feel like it costs more than it should. You show up. You function. But inside, something essential has gone quiet.
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
Asking for Help Isn’t Weakness. It’s the Bravest Thing You Can Do.

“We have all been in a place of trial. Everyone needs help at some point to traverse a mountain or manage a crisis before them. You are not alone.” — Julia Nelson, MA, LMFT, LCMHC |
Most people who reach out to me have been thinking about it for months — sometimes years. They’ve talked themselves out of it a dozen times. They’ve told themselves it’s not bad enough yet, or that they should be able to handle it on their own, or that things will get better if they just try harder.
But you wouldn’t put off seeing a doctor for a physical problem that wasn’t getting better on its own. This is no different. You’ve been strong for a long time. It’s okay to let someone help.
WHAT’S POSSIBLE
What Life Could Look Like on the Other Side
I want to be honest: counseling isn’t magic. It’s real work, and it takes time. But for the people who do the work, real things change.
|
For Couples Turning toward each other instead of away. Knowing how to have the hard conversation without it becoming a war. Feeling like partners again — not roommates, not opponents. |
For Anxiety A mind that actually rests. The ability to be present in your own life instead of bracing for what might go wrong. Calm that doesn’t depend on everything going right. |
|
For Depression Color coming back into your days. Wanting things again. Feeling connected to the people you love. A life that feels like yours again, not just something you endure. |
For Your Family When you heal, the people around you feel it. A healthier you means healthier relationships, a healthier home, and children who grow up with a different model. |
HOW I WORK
Faith-Integrated. Evidence-Based. Built Around You.
I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I’m trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — one of the most thoroughly researched approaches in the field, with over 25 years of evidence behind it.
But what that means in practice is this: I don’t use a formula. I don’t hand you a workbook and check boxes. I listen. I ask questions. I try to understand your specific history, your specific pain, and what healing actually needs to look like for your life — and then we build something around that.
If your faith is central to who you are, we’ll bring it into the room. If you’d prefer a purely clinical approach, that works too. I follow your lead.
I’ve been in private practice in Rutherfordton since 2015, and I’ve worked with individuals and couples across the NC Foothills. I also offer telehealth for NC and SC residents who prefer to meet from home.
A WORD FOR WHERE YOU ARE

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 |
You’ve been weary long enough. Rest — real rest — is possible. And it starts with one phone call.
